Science News!! Science happens every day and all around us. However - it is NOT common in this day and age that elements are found and named! Read more about it here: Science News New Elements named
Reading List - What is this? This reading list is not required for students. It is simply yet another way to connect to the material we are learning about. I find books that I feel enhance the content and share them with my students! However, there may be a time when there is required reading. Parents, please check out these books and decide if they are appropriate for your student - I do not endorse any of these.

1. "Atoms Under the Floorboards" by Chris Woodford
2. "The Disappearing Spoon" by Sam Kean
3. The Cartoon Guide to Chemistry" by Larry Gonick and Craig Criddle
4. "Elements" by Theodore Gray
Optional Homework -
What is this? Optional Homework (OH) is optional! The purpose of these assignments is to push students to explore the world around them as well as taking a closer look at their own experiences within this world. Some Units will have Optional Homework. This is completely independent work to provide enrichment for students. Students are expected to turn in the entire assignment for credit, partial credit will not be given.
